Our Commitment to the Community
The UNC Psychology Department Community Clinic (the Clinic) is dedicated to providing high quality and affordable psychological services to the triangle community and the UNC campus through specialty clinics for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. All of our assessment and treatment services are designed to provide effective psychological care in a compassionate environment to members of the campus and local community. Services are provided by graduate students in our highly ranked doctoral program and on a limited basis by Licensed Psychologists and postdoctoral fellows.
Our Commitment to Education and Research
The Clinic is a community-based training facility for the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality training for our graduate students as they learn evidence based psychological treatments. A related mission of the Community Clinic is the promotion and support of clinical research and the sharing of knowledge with the surrounding community through consultative services, presentations and workshops.

Referrals
The Clinic is available to individuals throughout the community, not just UNC students, faculty, and staff. Clients can refer themselves for assistance, and we gladly accept referrals from other mental health professionals. All clients undergo a phone screening to determine appropriateness for our clinic and for the best possible care. Please call us at 919-962-6906 if you are a potential client or would like to make a referral. You will be contacted by the clinic graduate assistant for a phone screening to ensure that our services are a good fit for you. You can also send an e-mail to: clinic.screening@unc.edu to set up a time for a screening call (this is the fastest way to get in touch with our clinic assistant).
Our Locations
The on campus site is Evergreen House (Parking, Map, and Directions).
The off campus site is on Finley Golf Course Road (Parking, Map, and Directions).
Note: we see clients from the entire Triangle area (Raleigh-Wake County, Durham, Orange County), as well as from places ranging from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Fayetteville, and Charlotte.
Our Fees
Reduced fees are offered based on income. Separate fees have been established for some services (e.g., assessments and the initial consultation fee for the Anxiety clinic and Child and Family clinic). The fees will be discussed and established during the phone screening with our graduate assistant. While we do not directly file insurance claims, clients will be provided with a statement of account that they can submit to their insurance company on their own. All clients sign Consent for Treatment and Fee Agreement forms.
Note: The University is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community. Consistent with this principle and applicable laws, it is therefore the University’s policy not to discriminate in offering access to its educational programs and activities on the basis of age, gender, race, color, national origin, religion, creed, disability, veteran’s status or sexual orientation.
